Montana State University Extension is an agency that provides unbiased, research based information to the public free of charge. The Extension Service provides information for four main areas: Family and Consumer Science, Agriculture, Youth Development and Community and Economic Development. The Family and Consumer Science area provides information, seminars, and individual consultations on all issues relating to the family such as: family finances, food and nutrition, parenting skills, housing, clothing and textiles. Youth Development is concentrated in two programs:
Agriculture programs have been and still continue to be a dominant feature of the Extension Service. Various classes, seminars, and individual consults are offered throughout the year on small grains, horticulture and livestock issues.
